Chicken Barbecue Recipe | How To Make Easy BBQ Chicken Recipe. Grilled BBQ Chicken is definitely a recipe for a hot summer night! The meaty chicken pieces are sliced into a delicious BBQ sauce until tender and juicy with a tender flavored flavor!

This is a classic potato salad or barbecue chicken recipe suitable for the kitchen served along with your favorite pasta salad recipe. This is the king of the entry of summer!

How long is BBQ Chicken?

This recipe uses chicken bones (breasts, thighs, legs) which take a little longer than boneless grilled chicken breasts. Bone-in chicken usually takes about 35-45 minutes to cook.

Meat is expensive and I always want to make sure it is cooked properly (not the end and not the bottom). To make sure it is cooked and to make sure you don’t overcook it, I strongly recommend that it be tender and juicy! When taking the temperature of the chicken, be sure to keep the thermometer away from the cavity or near any bone for proper reading.

BBQ Chicken Temperature: The FDA recommends that BBQ chicken reach 165 degrees Fahrenheit at the densest point.

Making bone-in chicken takes longer than making grad or oven-baked chicken breasts but the results are tender and juicy!

In this barbecue chicken recipe, the first 15 minutes will brown the outer skin and the next 20 to 30 minutes will finish the cooking process. Sugars can burn over high heat so adding a great sweet sticky grill after adding the sauce will protect the chicken from grilling while producing skin!

Preheat the grill over medium heat to make sure your bird is ready to cook it evenly before adding. Brush with oil (I use olive oil but whatever will work) so that the skin does not get stuck. I usually pour a small amount of oil on a paper towel and rub the oil quickly using the pieces.

To Grill BBQ Chicken:

Season your chicken with salt and pepper. Barbecue the chicken next to the skin for about 15 minutes. Turn it over and bust with BBQ chicken sauce (make your own homemade barbecue sauce or use pre-made). Cook an additional 20 to 30 minutes, stirring regularly with the sauce. To tell if the BBQ chicken is done.

Always check the internal temperature using a meat thermometer (165) and make sure the juices are not pink but clear run Once it is done, remove your BBQ chicken and rest on a plate for a few minutes before serving.

Left behind?

If there is any leftover, your BBQ chicken will last 3-4 days in the fridge or a few months in the fridge!

Don’t forget, you can use the rest of the BBQ chicken to top a Caesar salad, a baked potato, make a wrap or sandwich, or even nachose with some guacamole, sour cream and wrinkled cheddar!
